| Estate's description | Domaine de Chevalier: The origins of the domaine de Chevalier go back to the nineteenth century. The area once covered the domain of Chivaley, which means "knight" in Gascon (Actually, chevalier means knight in French).Arnaud and Jean Ricard bought the field in 1865, and then some members of their family succeed the head of the Domaine de Chevalier. In 1983, the family Bernard becomes the full owner. For almost two centuries, various owners have consistently brought these high wines to the elite of the appellation Pessac-Léognan. The red wine and the white wine of Domaine de Chevalier were also ordered "grand cru classé" in 1953 and 1959. The White Chevalier is aromatic and fresh, the red is fine, elegant, structured, powerful and delicate at once. The area also produces a second wine, “l’esprit de Chevalier”, from young vines and wines unused for the Great Wine. |
