| Estate's description | Like the château Ausone, Château Pavie is certainly one of the oldest estate, which has been implemented at the fourth century, in Saint-Emilion. However the winery began to be on top in the nineteenth century. Gérard Perse (also owners of the Château Monbousquet, Pavie-Decesse, Bellevue Mondotte, and also 3 castles on the appellation of Côtes-de-Castillon), bought the Château Pavie in 1998. Since then, many investments have been taken, in order to keep this château, as one of the best of the references of Saint-Emilion. The 37 hectares and the exceptional ground of this Château are located on the most beautiful hill of Saint-Emilion. In 1955, this location had enabled the Château Pavie to achieve its title of ‘premier grand cru classé’. The wine of Château Pavie is a fine wine, rich and complex. Ten years of patience will be needed to fully appreciate it. |
