Estate's description This famous castle derives its name from the Tour, dating from the twelfth century, which adorns the courtyard of the castle and from the town, where it is located, Martillac. Alfred Kressmann bought the château Latour-Martillac in 1929. Today, Tristan and Loïc, his grandchildren, are still at the head of the field. The wines, white and red, of the château Latour-Martillac were recognized in 1953 and 1959 as “grand cru classé” of Graves. They were already, previously, part of the elite. Indeed a bottle of Château Latour-Martillac 1929, in red, was served in Buckingham in 1936. The area also produces a second wine, Lagrave-Martillac, red and white.
