| Estate's description | Champagne Salon: Out-standing Champagne … Founded in 1911 by Eugene Aimé Salon, the champagnes’ house Salon developed first a champagne dedicated only for its founder and his relatives. In 1920, the trademark "Salon" was created. The house has produced thirty vintages since 1921. In 1988, the group Laurent-Perrier Diffusion bought the Champagnes Salon. Despite this acquisition, the values of the house, promise of excellence, remain intact. Champagne Salon is an exceptional and unique champagne. Every effort is made to ensure that the champagne is always highly qualitative and singular. 1.5 hectare of Chardonnay only, which is located on only one region, (the Côte des Blancs), make this Blanc de Blancs vintage, an exceptional champagne. It is produced only in the best years, which is approximately 3 years out of 10. The house Salon produces only one single Champagne, the Salon « S », always as vintage. It is not made up of from a blend of different grape varieties, like most champagnes, but only from Chardonnay. The vines of the one hectare plot « jardin de Salon » and the 20 small parcels of Mesnil-sur-Oger are used to make the Champagne Salon “s". It is produced only on limited quantity (60000 bottles for the vintage 1995), and it is marketed only after a long cellar aging period. A magic moment… |
