Domaine de la Romanée-Conti La Tâche
The wines from the Grand Cru « La Tâche » are located on the town of Flagey-Echezeaux, surrounded in the South by Nuits-Saint-Georges and in the North by Flagey-Echezeaux. This Grand Cru is the unique property of the Romanée-Conti (it’s what we call a monopole). The Domaine de la Romanée-Conti is then the only producer of this wine. The 5,72 hectares of the Grand Cru are surrounded by the Grand Cru “La Grande Rue” and the Premiers Crus “Les Chaumes” and “Les Gaudichots”. Until 1932, the surface of “La Tâche” was of only 1,4 hectares. In this year, the French government authorized the incorporation of 4,3 hectares of the Premier Cru “Les Gaudichots” to the Grand Cru “La Tâche”. Since then, the surface of “La Tâche” has not changed. The soil offers powerful, solid, deep and concentrated red wines with a spiced and complex bouquet. The Domaine de la Romanée-Conti is usually producing 24000 bottles per year, 100% made from pinot noir. It is “unfortunately” necessary to wait from 8 to 20 years to taste those wines in the best conditions.
