Domaine Leflaive

Domaine Leflaive: a family of winemakers… The origins of Domaine Leflaive date back from the 16th century. In 1717, Claude Leflaive bought the family property in Puligny. Jospeh Leflaive, founder of the “modern” domaine Leflaive, was taking care of the family inheritance that had suffered from phylloxera. From 1920, he undertook, with his friend François Virot, a replanting and rehabilitation program. He selected new grafts that were the best adapted to his parcels. He also started again to bottle himself his wines, which were most of the time sold to negociants, as usual at this time. After his death, his 4 children decided to create a SCE (Société Civile d’Exploitation) in 1973 in order to manage the domain with the ambition to get a worldwide reputation with their chardonnay, and that is so today. Since 1994, Anne-Claude Leflaive has been managing the domain. We advise you to taste the Chevalier-Montrachet of the domain, an absolute wonder…
