Located in the town of Morey-Saint-Denis (and neighbor of the Clos de Tart), it was in 1365 that the name of the parcel “Cloux des Lambreys” appeared for the first time in the registries of the Abbey of Cîteaux. Divided within 74 owners during the French Revolution of 1789, its reunification began in 1868. The Clos des Lambrays, classified as “Grand Cru” in 1981, is now constituted of 10 hectares, 100% planted with pinot noir and lead by Thierry Brouin. The average altitude of 250 meters, the 3 parcels (known as “climates” in Burgundy) of the Clos des Lambrays, “le Meix Rentier”, “les Larrets” and “Les Bouchots”, and the average age (about 40 years) of the vines, produce superb wines, powerful and structured. The vintages, judged as less successful, are declassified as “appellation Morey-Saint-Denis 1er Cru”. The estate also possesses some climates in “premier Cru” in the village of Puligny-Montrachet: “Clos du Cailleret” and “Les Folatières”.
