Our selection of Château Beychevelle : The Château Beychevelle’s history goes back to the sixteenth century. At that time, Jean-Louis de la Valette Nogaret, Duke of Epernon, was the estate’s owner. The Château Beychevelle’s emblem can be found on the wine’s label: a ship with a Griffon (mythical beast, pulling the chariot of Dionysus, god of wine). Indeed, ships which were passing in front of the castle would likely lower their sails as an allegiance sign to Duke. Beychevelle means "Drop-Sailing." (...)
